I paint with heavy body oil paint to create surface based work that feels like a natural and earthy texture in the home. I love a monochromatic look with many layers beneath, meaning my paintings often slip into an almost sculptural category. My work pairs beautifully alongside more contemporary, modern work because it doesn't compete with color or form, but rather offers texture and mood. It encourages medition in that it often changes many times during the day as light passes through a space over the surface of it. My goal is not so much to create an object for your wall, but an atmosphere that contributes to the entire feel of the room.
